Piano lesson details
- Ages: 6+; I’m especially interested in teaching teens and older adults
- Rate: $30 for 30 minutes, $40 for 45 minutes, $50 for 60 minutes, $65 for 90 minutes
- Where: Your home in the Metro Vancouver area, or we can arrange for online lessons
- Frequency: Up to you! I recommend once a week to start.

Teaching philosophy
To me, music is language. We develop our musical vocabulary by learning the fundamentals of pitch, rhythm, intervals, chords, and chord progressions. We can then combine these elements with musicianship skills like technique, listening, improvisation, sight-reading, articulation, and dynamics to express ourselves through the language of music.
I am familiar with the RCM examination system, but I am also happy to teach students whose goal is purely to have fun. I tailor my teaching approach to each student’s needs, strengths, and interests, and can offer a classical approach or one more relevant to popular styles. I have experience teaching children, teens, and adults, but am particularly interested in teaching teens and older adults.
